Basketball Wales Coaching Clinic

BasketballWales is hosting a Coaching Clinic on Sunday 20th April 08 @ UWIC, Cardiff. The clinic is aimed at both new and experienced coaches as there will be a variety of sessions tailored for different needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain further knowledge from expert deliverers – don’t miss out!!

Deliverers include:

Damian Jennings – GB Women’s Assistant Coach, UWIC Archers & Wales Senior Women’s Head Coach, BasketballWales Coach Tutor.

Damian is an engaging and inspiring deliverer. He has been identified by British Basketball and BasketballWales as a leading coach of the future and was awarded Wales’ only place on the prestigious FIBA Europe Coaching Certificate.

Dr Duncan French – Great Britain Basketball Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Duncan has worked with elite athletes from many sports and gained his PhD from Connecticut University whilst being involved with their NCAA programme. He is a full time employee of GB Basketball and FIBA Europe selected him as the S&C expert to deliver on the European Coaching Certificate.

Vic Fleming – Wales Senior Men Assistant Coach, BasketballWales Coach Tutor, Gwent Junior Academy Head Coach.

Vic has a fascinating basketball CV. He specialises in developing young players and has travelled all over the world to learn from other coaches and systems. We are fortunate to have him bringing the best ideas back to us here in Wales.

Dr Steven Lloyd – BasketballWales’ new Senior Manager and former Director of Coaching, former Senior Men’s Head Coach

Steve’s coaching experience comes from both the UK and America. He has spent many years as a Schools Inspector with special focus on P.E. in schools and has a passion for basketball and for improving children’s health.

Trudie Hopgood – BasketballWales Junior Development Officer (focus Bridgend), former Junior National Coach (Malta), Private Coaching Consultant (Australia).

Trudie has experienced some of the best basketball programmes in the world as she has played through the Australian development system and in Div1 NCAA. She has coached in a number of countries and has a keen interest in developing fundamentally sound players and coaches.
