Coaching through the medium of Welsh

There is a focus to expand opportunities for sports coaching through the medium of Welsh. The Sports Council for Wales have recently employed a Welsh Language Officer. The remit of this post is to co-ordinate the activities of organisations, to increase opportunities for sports coaching through the medium of Welsh, and to enhance the use of the Welsh language in the core work of the Sports Council for Wales.

It is also anticipated that the UK Coaching Certificate will bring increases in the use of the Welsh language. Those sports in Wales that are involved in this are committed to increasing the use of the Welsh language and in the future hope to be able to provide coaches with resources in Welsh.
